Food Ingredient Import and Export Services

Food ingredient importing exposes manufacturers to shifting regulations, documentation requirements, and quality risk at every border. Diversified Ingredients manages international sourcing, compliance, and logistics as one coordinated service — so food, pet food, and feed manufacturers can secure the ingredients they need without inheriting the customs and supply risk that comes with global trade.
ABOUT SERVICES

Global Ingredient Sourcing

We source ingredients worldwide and place them where U.S. manufacturers need them, aligning procurement, logistics, and documentation under one service-focused team. Global sourcing diversifies your supply, reduces dependence on a single origin, and helps stabilize both availability and pricing through seasonal and market swings.

Whether you’re securing animal proteins, grains, starches, sweeteners, plant proteins, dried dairy, or specialty co-products, we manage the international movement so you can focus on formulation and production rather than freight and paperwork.

FSVP Compliance Support

The Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) places responsibility on the U.S. importer to verify that foreign suppliers meet FDA food-safety standards. We support FSVP compliance directly — helping with supplier verification, documentation, and the records that demonstrate compliance to auditors and inspectors.

Getting FSVP right keeps shipments moving. It minimizes the customs delays, product holds, and non-conformances that disrupt international supply chains, and it keeps the compliance burden off your internal team. Our  quality assurance team supports verification and corrective-action documentation.

Import Documentation and Logistics

Importing ingredients involves more than booking freight. We coordinate container receiving, unloading, storage, and just-in-time delivery from port to plant, managing the documentation that travels with each shipment along the way.

Tight logistics coordination reduces dwell time at the port and cuts demurrage and detention exposure, while keeping your production lines reliably supplied. Pairing importing with  transloading and warehousing lets us manage the lane end to end.

Export Services

We provide export support for ingredient manufacturers reaching customers beyond the U.S., handling logistics coordination, documentation, and the format and labeling requirements of destination markets. Export support gives domestic producers a path to new demand and steadier sales volume.

For international manufacturers entering the U.S., we also help develop go-to-market strategies — aligning ingredient formats, claims, and documentation so products clear faster and land more readily with U.S. buyers.

Ocean Freight Capabilities

Most international ingredient movement travels by ocean container, and we manage that leg as part of the import and export service — from container receiving and unloading through to onward delivery. Coordinating ocean freight alongside inland logistics keeps the handoff between port and plant tight, reducing the dwell time and detention costs that erode landed margins.

Because the same team oversees ocean freight, inland transport, and documentation, you get one accountable point of contact for the full international lane rather than a chain of disconnected vendors.

Regions We Source From

Our sourcing and export network reaches across Asia, Canada, Europe, South America, and Mexico, giving you access to a broad base of qualified origins. That reach lets you diversify demand, navigate regional supply constraints, and hold pricing more predictably than single-origin sourcing allows.

Strong capabilities in non-GMO, organic, and specialty ingredients across these regions help you meet evolving retailer and consumer expectations and build differentiated, premium product lines.

Who We Serve

We support pet food producers, human-food manufacturers, and animal feed operations with international ingredient sourcing and export. Pet food buyers rely on us for animal proteins, fibers, fats, and oils; human-food formulators for starches, sweeteners, plant proteins, dried dairy, and emulsifiers; feed manufacturers for grains, co-products, and nutritional components.

With more than 40 years in food, feed, and pet food ingredient markets, Diversified Ingredients combines quality assurance and logistics to keep global supply secure. Related regulatory and compliance support backs every cross-border shipment.
